Covenant Enforcement Requests

How to file a complaint about a covenant or rules concern, and what happens next.

Policy and procedure for member complaints

Approved April 20, 2002

  1. Member complaints concern the actions or inaction of other members, or Association services — for example the state of a property, road conditions, weeds, domestic animals, water or sewer service, fishing abuse, careless driving, or excess noise. All complaints must be filed with the GVM office, which keeps complaint forms for members. Any member, agent, agency, or staff member may file a complaint.
  2. When a complaint is filed, office staff determine (a) which agency or office should process or investigate it, and (b) what details are needed to act — where, when, who, a description, the rule being violated, and other facts.
  3. The Association will not directly enforce another agency’s rules (State, County, and so on). It may, however, file a complaint with the appropriate authority when appropriate.
