Board of Directors

Seven volunteer directors, elected by the members to two-year terms.

Members of the Board are elected to two-year terms in annual elections, with voting open to all members. Every ownership parcel in Glacier View Meadows has one vote.

The Board sets policy, hires a professional Manager to carry it out, and gives staff the resources to do their work well. Board process follows Jeffrey Goldberg’s Rules of Order for Association Boards, and every director is bound by the Board Code of Conduct. Monthly Board meetings are open to all members.

Officer roles

President — the Association’s administrative officer. Chairs Board meetings, monitors Board activity and Association projects, and, with Board approval, appoints committee chairs. Advises all committees without a vote.

Vice President — fills in for the President when needed. Monitors the Association’s business and finances, the Board’s compliance with the bylaws and policies, and committee progress. Serves ex officio on the Rules Committee.

Secretary — oversees all official records: meeting minutes, business notices, filing and archiving, and member access to non-privileged documents.

Treasurer — oversees the Association’s finances: the accountant and bookkeeper, disbursements and deposits, annual financial reports, and the budget process. Serves ex officio on the Budget Committee.

How the Board works

The Board’s successes come from its long tradition of working through committees — groups of residents who take on shared challenges, with support from Board members serving ex officio. Membership in every committee is open to any resident, full- or part-time.
