Most of us who move to a place like Glacier View Meadows aren’t, by nature, vastly social creatures. You’ll find more than the usual share of folks who know how to live within themselves, who find a world of interest in quiet and privacy, and who know the wildlife, forests, and trails intimately.
Still, we all value our community connections. In times of need — which, in our wild setting, come more often than we’d like — we know who we can rely on. We reach out, offer support, and share resources and comfort as they’re needed.
Getting together
There’s no substitute for being with other people. We meet at the mailboxes, open the locks for each other at the recycling center, and bump into each other at the GVM office. And we gather regularly:
- Monthly community potluck — last Saturday of the month (except November and December), 5:30 pm in the Community Room, hosted by the Glacier Gals
- Pancake breakfasts — Memorial Day and Labor Day at the Mountain Meetin’ Place
- Holiday dinner and gift exchange — late December
- Community Work Day — usually in August
- Board and committee meetings — open to everyone
Fire & medical
Glacier View Meadows is served by the Glacier View Fire District. In an emergency, call 911. Reflective house-number signs help crews find your home quickly — the Glacier Gals sell them.

Our ethic
We come from all walks of life, and our lives are richer because of it. We value integrity and self-reliance. We are mountain people, facing our challenges together as the dues we pay for the joy of living with freedom and the glories of four-season nature.
